LOKI DESCENDS
In Jotunheim, with the death of Laufey and Loki's attack on their world, the frost giants are now a broken race, and yet they sense that something has happened.
In Nidavellir, The Troll Lords had felt this as well. For so many millennia, they have coveted the Dwarven forges. Once they realize that Asgard cannot come to King's Eitri's defense, they will strike.
In the Badoon Worlds, despite the primitive nature of the Badoon, they could feel the absence of Asgard and now multiple tribes had started a civil war. If no one stops them then their savagery and bloodlust will eventually spread planet to planet, unchallenged.
And now in the Vanaheim system, the marauders are amassing their forces for conquest.
All these events are all happening due to the absence of Asgardian presence, but as Heimdall continues to look beyond Yggdrasil, he could see that it threatens far more than the nine realms.
In the broken rainbow bridge of Asgard, three people were seen standing on the edge of it.
"So, in saving Jotunheim and ending Loki's madness I have doomed the nine realms", Thor said as he looks towards the edge of the rainbow bridge.
"No my son. The universe forever moves towards Ragnarok. This is its nature. Our absence, however, now quickens the pace", King Odin said to Thor.
With his signature sword in hand, Heimdall said to the two people that were standing near him, "Nonetheless, once the enemies of the nine realms begin to realize that Asgard has been cut off from the rest of the worlds, they will take advantage of our absence".
"Warn all you can Heimdall", Odin said as he saw a group of soldiers movings towards them. Odin knew that Heimdall's warnings were pointless. Without the Bifrost, they could not help in removing the chaos that is happening in the nine realms.
"But the Vanir are Hogun's people, Father. They depend on our protection", Thor said to his father as he worries for the families of his friend.
"The Marauders are Scavengers first, warriors last. They will loot all they can before taking that which must be fought for", Heimdall said to Thor.
"True, but they will descend on the Vanir tribes soon enough", Thor responded. Thor then looks at his father and said, "How long until the Bifrost is ready?".
"Shall we guess in days or LIVES?", Odin said in a somewhat cold tone. The All-father wasn't sure how long the repairs would take before the Bifrost is fully operational.
"Hail, Odin All-Father! Commander Tyr has requested the King's presence!", said one of the approaching Asgardian soldiers. Odin nodded and immediately rode a horse to return to the palace.
Seeing his father return to the palace, Thor said to Heimdall, "I must speak with Hogun. Keep me informed of any changes, especially on Vanaheim".
"Do you not wish to know of Midgard?", Heimdall asked Thor.
"You know my answer...but now is not the time"
"She is well, your mortal", Heimdall said.
"Thank you, my friend", Thor said as he swings his hammer causing him to fly in the air.
ASGARD ONE YEAR LATER:
Alone in her room, Queen Frigga was using her magic, which caused her to have a vision.
She saw a man holding a spear in his hand, standing on a huge rock in space. She found the man familiar and she went towards him. The man looks in her direction, he could clearly see her.
"Mother", the man said at the visage of the approaching woman.
"Loki", Frigga said with delight that she could not hide. Her seeing that her son is alive is good news.
Loki faltered for a moment but he immediately gathered his resolve and said to Queen Frigga, "I'm sorry. Now just isn't a good time". Loki then used his own magic to cancel the spell that his mother was using. Thus, breaking her spell.
"Loki is alive", Queen Frigga said to everyone present in the Throne room. After her spell was broken, she immediately went towards the throne room to tell everyone about what she had just learned.
"What?!", Thor said with disbelief in his voice.
Seated on his throne with Gungnir on his right hand, Odin responded to his wife, "He fell into Yggdrasil itself, Frigga. His body would have been scattered across the universe".
"Mother...are you sure? Perhaps what you saw was simply----"
"He lives!", Queen Frigga once again said as she interrupts her son from talking. She walks towards the steps of the throne of Asgard, and she said to her husband, "And his planning something. Something involving the Tesseract".
Odin looks straight into the eyes of his wife as he thinks of what this could mean for the nine realms.
MEANWHILE ON EARTH: JOINT DARK ENERGY MISSION FACILITY (S.H.I.E.L.D. CLASSIFIED BASED)
"All personnel, the evacuation order has been confirmed. Proceed to your designated vehicles immediately. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. I REPEAT THIS IS NOT A DRILL!".
This was continuously being broadcast in the entire base. Multiple scientists and agents were frantically carrying all of their possessions and research documents as they tried to evacuate the facility.
While others were evacuating, a helicopter arrived in the facility, carrying with it the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as his right-hand man, or woman for that matter, Agent Maria Hill. Waiting on the side of the landing area is Agent Phil Coulson.
"How bad is it?", Fury asked Phil the moment he got out of the helicopter.
"That's the problem, sir. We don't know", Phil responded.
The three of them proceeded to enter deep inside the facility. Fury then ordered his two trusted agents. He orders Coulson to quicken the evacuation and he ordered Hill to gathered all Phase 2 equipments that are currently stored in the base.
Phase 2 was a secret project created by S.H.I.E.L.D. to create weapons of mass destruction using the Tesseract. It was based on HYDRA schematics that the red skull use in World War 2.
Inside the lower levels of the base were a number of scientists, the person in charge of studying the Tesseract is Dr. Selvig. They were frantically trying to figure out what was wrong with the Tesseract, and why it was acting up.
"Agent Barton report", Fury said to his earpiece.
"Have you seen anything that might set this thing off?", Fury asked Agent Barton as he pointed to the Tesseract.
"Doctor! It's spiking again", A scientist shouted in the background.
Both Barton and Fury step onto the platform, in front of the tesseract machine.
"No one's come and gone. And Selvig's clean, no contacts. If there's any tampering, sir, it wasn't this end", Barton said as he looks at the Tesseract.
"At this end?", Fury asked, a little confused.
"Yeah. The Cube is a doorway to the other end of space, right? Doors open from both sides", Agent Barton explained.
Suddenly the Tesseract began to spark multiple times, bigger each time. Then out of the Tesseract came a beam that opened a portal, then an explosion happened.
"BANG!"
Most of the equipment was thrown out of place while the agents were able to steady their footing through the blast of energy. They watch as the light that came out of the explosion subsided.
On the platform is a man carrying a spear in his hand. Several guards move in slowly to surround the possible hostile. The man looks up, grinning menacingly.
"Sir, please put down the spear!" Fury said as he ordered the intruder.
Loki looks at his scepter then fires a stream of blue light from it, aiming at Director Fury. Barton saw this and he immediately pushes Fury out the way from the beam. The guards open fire, but their bullets seem to have no effect against the intruder. They fought valiantly but each of them was killed by the intruder, either with the spear he was holding or the knives that the man was able conjure.
Barton moves towards the intruder hoping to kill the man but he was fighting someone stronger than him. The man grabs Barton's arm and said, " You have heart". The man touches the tip of the spear to Barton's chest and his eyes became ice blue. Barton then kept his gun and stood in place. Loki then moves to another agent and he did the same thing as what he did to Barton.
Fury was shocked for a while, he didn't know what the man was doing but he gathered himself and he tried to leave with the Tesseract in hand.
"Please don't. I still need that", the man said to Director Fury.
"This doesn't have to get any messier", Fury responded.
"Of course it does. I've come too far for anything else. I am Loki, of Asgard. And I am burdened with a glorious purpose", the man said as he introduced himself to the Director S.H.I.E.L.D.
