C113 Living in Seclusion within the Forest Mountain

C113 Living in Seclusion within the Forest Mountain

"Kid, you're usually extremely intelligent. How come you've act so carelessly and caused so much trouble this time?" A voice resounded from the sun-like radiance in the sky.

"Ayaya!"

Within the embrace of the woman was a baby calling out, seeming as if the dazzling light in the sky had attracted its gaze. Staring intently into the sky, it wave its small hands around, looking like it was about grab onto that radiance.

"Eh?"

A gasp of surprise rounded out from within the dazzling light in the sky. In the next moment, an formless aura descended like a multi-colored sunset, eneveloping its warmth around the child in the woman's embrace. Within the light, runes could be seen fluctuating with astonishing Qi.

"Unbelievable, truly unbelievable!"

With each passing second, the voice resounding from the sky became increasingly astonished. Then, a multicolored ray of light shot down on the other child whose heart had already stopped beating. He was enveloped by the rune energy before it quickly vainished into thin air again. The solemn voice once again sounded out, "This exceptionally gifted girl is an Innate Saint Sovereign. However, the boy was born mediocre with incomplete Martial Veins. Even so, he still has a slim chance of survival."

"Exceptionally gifted? An Innate Saint Sovereign?!"

Upon hearing the words uttered by the solemn voice, numerous figures within the radiant light stared in shock at the child in the woman'e embrace. Just how powerful was an Innate Saint Sovereign?

"Anyways, I shall deal with this matter personally today. Ao Tong, bring that girl back to the clan. As long as the pair of father and son lives in seclusion within the forest mountain and never sees you in person ever again, I will guarantee their safety and protect them. No one will be able to lay their hands on them," the voice in the sky sounded.

"Ancestor!" The woman let out a pleading cry.

"Don't tell me you wish for the pair of father and son to perish today?" the voice from the sky warned. "This is the final decision, and no one will be able to change my mind. So, let's just do it this way."

As the dignified voice diminished, the dazzling light in the sky too faded away slowly with the entire place turning dead silent for a moment.

"Du Tingxuan, you and that trash will live in seclusion within the forest mountains. If you dare try anything suspicious, the ancestor will no longer protect you."

The figure hovering within the brightest radiance shot a glance at Du Tingxuan who was kneeling on the ground with his son in his arms. There was not even the slightest hint of pity within his eyes as he looked with a haughty, arrogant expression.

*Roar! Roar!*

*Howl!*

As the godlike figures rode on their vicious beasts and left the scene one after another, the woman turned her head for the last time to look at the blood-soaked Du Tingxuan who was kneeling down next to the child. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she could not do anything about the current situation. Powerlessly, she slowly vanished past the horizon.

Only after those powerful figures left did the wild beasts within the mountain range dare to move once again as their roars and howls resounded through the silence.

"Shao Fu!"

Hugging the child tightly in his embrace, Du Tingxuan kept calling out to his son. Even after injecting all the Profound Qi he had into the child's body, he still did not move a single inch.

After two long, grueling hours, the child's face had turned deathly pale. His chest had long since stopped moving as his last bit of Qi was slowly disappearing.

"Shao Fu!!"

Du Tingxuan shouted as he stared blankly at the baby boy with a bleach pale face.

Time slowly ticked down. With the sun setting, dusk loomed over the earth, illuminated by the bright moon in the sky.

On the peak of the mountain, Du Tingxuan could be seen standing still like a statue as he held his infant son in his arms until late into the night.

*Rumble!*

At that moment, the deafening sound of thunder resounded through the vicinity as the color of the sky changed abruptly.

Thick dark clouds shrouded the sky as lightning and thunder crashed within. The curtain of the night seemed to have open up as the entire earth once again turned as bright as daytime.

Amidst the supposed dusk, the earth trembled as the surface of the river amidst the mountains raged with stormy tides and waves. Lightning jolted as thunder roared through the skies without stopping for a long while.

Within the mountian ranges, the myriads of beasts roared and knelt before the strange phenomenon, bowing down in fear.

*Boom!*

Above the skies, an ancient energy descended from the skies as a majestic, boundless aura gushed over as though it had pierced through the shackles of space and time, landing on the still child in Du Tingxuan's embrace.

*Rumble!*

In that instant, something seemed to have been awakened. The entire earth began trembling as if a myriad of beasts were rushing across the land.

Huge cracks appeared in the endless mountain range as towering trees began collapsing one after another. The mountain peaks began shattering as the deep abyss and ravines shifted.

The Divine General of the Heavenly Thunder descends with its heavenly might, bringing along with it a strange phenomenon shaking the heaven and earth.

"Shao Fu!"

Shocked, Du Tingxuan trembled under the might of the heaven as he held his infant son in his arms and welcomed the energy that broke through the shackles bounded by space and time.

Enveloped by the descending energy, the infant boy whose heart had long since stopped beating suddenly started palpitating once again. Unexpectedly regaining his movements, albeit weak, the child suddenly spat out a mouthful of dark red blood before crying aloud.

"Waa! Waa!"

Though the infant boy's cries sounded rather sluggish, it nevertheless resounded like a large bell.

On the mountain peak behind the Du Family, a sonorous and cackling cry jolted past the ears of Du Shaofu. Hot tears rolled down his face as he clenched his fists tightly and heaved violently.

Having seen everything in the dream with his very own eyes, his mind fell into a state of turmoil. With his vision blurred by his tears, he felt a mix of all emotions at the same time.

Du Tingxuan walked over to Du Shaofu and gently patted his son on the shoulder. Though he chose to stay silent and forcefully contained his emotions, he could not hold back the tears from welling up in his eyes. Perhaps he did not want Du Shaofu to see just how powerless he was back then as his father.

"Father, is that my mother?" Du Shaofu raised his head and looked at his father. In the past, he had always suspected that his father was lying when he talked about his mother.

"Right." Du Tingxuan nodded.

"Do I have an older or younger sister?"

Within the dream he witnessed, there was another baby girl. Du Shaofu could clearly feel that she was blood-related to him.

"Your sister was born two hours later than you. You are named Shao Fu while she was named Shao Jing," Du Tingxuan said as tears too began rolling down his eyes, unable to restrain his emotions any longer.

"Just how strong are those people?" Du Shaofu looked at his father with bloodshot eyes as he clenched down on his fists tightly.

Lifting his head, Du Tingxuan looked up into the sky and said, "Stronger than you could ever imagine!"

"One day, I will go back and take them down, for I want to see my mother and sister again!"

Du Shaofu exclaimed as his tightened his grip to the point where his fingernails started digging into his palm. Faint golden blood could be seen flowing out from within.

"I too want to do so, but they are simply far too strong. Now that they've made their first move, I'm afraid that things will only get more difficult from here on out. Are you afraid?" Du Tingxuan turned around and asked his son.

"I'm not afraid. I will work even harder to become stronger. If they come for us, I shall kill them one by one until the day I get to see my mother and sister," Du Shaofu said as tears streamed down his cheeks.

Having seen his mother's heart-wrenching screams and struggles, a piercing, sharp pain jolted through Du Shaofu's heart!

"All this time, I had you stay in Stone City in order to keep you safe. But now, I hope for you to willingly walk out of that bubble. Temper your body and become even stronger!"

Du Tingxuan said to his son, "Otherwise, we, as father and son, will forever remain powerless before them."

"What about you? Are we going together?" Du Shaofu asked.

"I have things I need to do and places where I need to go. Besides, I can't stay by your side forever. When you traveled into the Wild Beast Mountain Range before, I had always been following you in the shadows. I even know all about the Golden Winged Roc and Purple Flame Demon Phoenix. However, that beautiful woman was also quite strong. But since she had no intentions to harm you and instead taught you more things about cultivation, I did not interfere with that matter. Even so, I reckon she'd alreadydetected my presence at that time."

Du Tingxuan told his son truthfully. As his father, he ought to protect his son as his shield. However, he knew full well that he had more important things to do at this moment.

"I'm no longer the same person as before."

Du Shaofu nodded his head. All these years, he knew even though his drunkard of a father seemed to be muddleheaded that he had actually always been protecting him from the shadows as his guardian angel.

"If you want to see your mother and sister, then you'll just have to become stronger."

Du Tingxuan looked at Du Shaofu with a sorrowful expression covered up by his forced smile. "As for me, I ought to take my own action for my woman and daughter."

"I'm now starting to envy myself... to envy you for having a father like me."

Looking at his alcoholic father, Du Shaofu recalled all his memories of his childhood days. Duirng those days, he would also be sad when he saw someone else's family having fun and laughing together. Only now, after discovering how his father put his life on the line to protect his wife and children, did he truly feel proud of hving a father like him.

"You're not half-bad either. I believe that I won't disappoint your mother and sister," Du Tingxuan said as he patted his son on the shoulder.

"What is the Innate Saint Sovereign?" Du Shaofu raised his head and asked. "Is my sister an Innate Saint Sovereign?"

"An Innate Saint Sovereign is someone who's blessed with the most powerful talent in this world. Any one of them is enough to make the world tremble and force tens of thousands of different races to submit before them."

Du Tingxuan said with a trembling gaze. "You have to work extremely hard. Otherwise, you'll lose face when you get to see your sister again."

"No matter how strong that little girl may be, I'm still her brother at the end of the day. Could it be that she'd dare to hit me?"

Du Shaofu joked with a smile. He wondered if his younger twin sister would look exactly like him. He wondered if she was aware that she had an older brother in this world.

The pair of father and son stood silently in place as they gazed up into the sky.

At that moment, the two of them finally bonded as a family.

After that, they continued chatting for quite a while. Du Shaofu had even learned from his father about how they returned together to Stone City after he miraculously came back to life. From then on, he would spend most of his early years in that city.

Regarding the matter of his crippled Martial Veins, it turns out that his father had long since known about it. However, his first and second uncle seemed to be unaware of that the entire time. They did not seem to know anything about what took place outside either.

Moreover, it was said that his father had resided in the Stone Dragon Empire for a while in the past. However, he did not hear anything about what his father did during his time in the Empire. His father did not bring up that topic either.
